First Grade Teacher (Fall 2026)

Job Description

City of Lakes Waldorf School is seeking a qualified and inspired class teacher to join our faculty as our first grade teacher in August 2026. Qualified candidates will have a college degree, experience in the classroom, a strong interest in Waldorf education, and proven capacities for teaching. We are seeking individuals who are committed to excellence in teaching, self-development, collegial cooperation, and a commitment to working from Waldorf principles.

Qualifications and Benefits:

Ideal candidates are Waldorf-trained teachers with a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of teaching experience. Qualified teachers without Waldorf training will be expected to attend a Waldorf certification program supported by school funding. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply. We offer a base salary of $50,000 with increments for teaching experience and education.

Administrative Director

Job Description

City of Lakes Waldorf School seeks a dedicated and experienced Administrative Director to begin in late spring or summer of 2026, in preparation for the 2026–27 school year. The Administrative Director plays a key leadership role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of the school’s daily operations, working in service of our mission to provide a high-quality Waldorf education for children in the heart of Minneapolis.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep commitment to Waldorf education, strong leadership and administrative experience, and a collaborative spirit that fosters connection with faculty, staff, families, and the broader school community.

Working closely with the school’s leadership groups—including the Board of Trustees, the College of Teachers, the Pedagogical Chair, and the administrative team—the Administrative Director ensures that day-to-day operations and long-term strategy are aligned and sustainable. This role links the school’s mission and pedagogical goals with fiscal, operational, and community realities, helping to guide the school forward in a thoughtful, mission-aligned way.

Essential Competencies:

  • Waldorf School Philosophy: Knowledge of Waldorf school principles, including administrative and educational methods and techniques.
  • School Administration: Strong understanding of school administration principles, including finance, budgeting, and personnel management.
  • Public Relations & Community Engagement: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, public agencies, parents, and the general public, while promoting the school’s image.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills and experience with Google Suite and related tools.
  • Multitasking & Organization: Ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize administrative and financial data, presenting it in a clear and effective manner.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage with people tactfully and courteously, fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Qualifications and Benefits

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of administrative leadership experience in a nonprofit, school, or similar setting. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, Waldorf Grades or Early Childhood teaching certificate, or Waldorf-specific administrative training.
