Announcing Our Rising First Grade Teacher for 2026–27: Carlisle Evans Peck

We are delighted to announce that Carlisle Evans Peck will be joining us as the First Grade Teacher for the 2026–27 school year! Carlisle returns to City of Lakes Waldorf School after a year away, bringing with him a wealth of experience, artistry, and a deep passion for teaching.

Carlisle first joined CLWS nine years ago, contributing in a variety of roles that reflect both his versatility and his dedication to students. He has co-taught the Class of 2025 in 7th and 8th grade, taught music and choir for grades 3–8, led middle school Algebra and Cyber Civics classes, and earlier in his tenure, worked as a classroom assistant, Extended Day coordinator, paraprofessional, and substitute teacher.

Beloved by students and colleagues alike, Carlisle has a unique ability to weave academic and artistic experiences together, fostering learning that is both meaningful and joyful. His teaching is grounded in the Waldorf approach, enriched by his creativity, curiosity, and natural warmth.

Carlisle’s engagement extends well beyond the classroom. He has served on the College of Teachers, the Collegium, and the festival committee. He co-founded our middle school LGBTQ+ Affinity Group, providing a supportive and celebratory space for students. He has also shared his musical talents in class plays and the annual circus.

As part of his selection process, Teacher Evans Peck shared an original story with the rising first grade class, featuring a child exploring nature, testing limits, and embarking on exciting adventures. The students were captivated!

Carlisle shares: “Waldorf education asks teachers to approach teaching as an art form and presents an opportunity to craft an education that is of a specific time and place. I’m stepping back into a teaching role at CLWS with gratitude for the wonder in this education, and the brilliance of the individuals who make this community so special.”

When asked what he’s most looking forward to, Carlisle says: “First grade is such a rich year of learning, and above all I am looking forward to all of the stories. Storytelling is my jam, I love that it’s at the heart of Waldorf education. I can’t wait to craft and tell stories that open the doors to the world and anchor the year with awe.”

We are thrilled to welcome Carlisle back to CLWS and look forward to watching the class of 2034 flourish under his guidance.
