Better Together

City of Lakes Waldorf School events celebrate our students and our school and bring the community together. We are also pleased to offer a variety of enrichment opportunities for both current and prospective families to learn and deepen our understanding of Waldorf education throughout the year.

Festival Life

A vibrant example of community and celebration

As part of our rich Waldorf curriculum, students enjoy a lively calendar of cultural events and festivals throughout the year. These celebrations provide an opportunity to experience the mood, feeling, and traditions of the changing seasons and holidays. Festivals typically include an opportunity for grades students to share a poem or musical offering from their work together in the classroom.

Celebrating festivals brings a sense of rhythm and anticipation. Honoring festivals together is also a way of keeping time, particularly for young children. Throughout history and across cultures, festivals have been interwoven with life and the cycles of nature.

“Like art, the celebration of festivals “produces” something, if I can use that word, which can inspire and transform us. Like art, festivals are for everyone, not just the few and, like art, the ability to celebrate festivals can be a measure of the strength, vitality, and inner dynamic of a person, community, or culture.”
