Annual Fundraiser

Great Gatherings are community and parent-hosted events that bring City of Lakes Waldorf School families together to connect through unique and stimulating activities make all while supporting our school. 

All proceeds go back to the school, thanks to the generosity of our hosts. These fun, fixed-price events are a fantastic way to engage with others in our community. 

Check out our current line up:

🤠 Line Dancing – Kick up your heels and learn some classic line dances in a low-pressure setting.

♠️ Poker Night- An adults-only evening of cards, conversation, and friendly competition. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just in it for the fun, come enjoy a relaxed night together.

🎲 Family BINGO- A classic for all! Bring the whole family for games, laughs, and a little friendly competition.

🍕 Pizza in the Garden (Adults Only)- Spend a summer evening enjoying homemade pizza in a beautiful backyard garden. We’ll keep the pizza oven hot and your glass full as you relax and enjoy good food and great conversation.

🌿 Henna 101- Learn the basics of henna application, how to create foundational motifs and flowers, and the key differences between Arabic and South Asian henna styles.

✨ Twilight Tales- An Evening Under the Stars A cozy backyard movie night featuring an outdoor fantasy film for children with pizza and treats, while adults gather indoors for simple food, drinks, and conversation. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an easy evening together.

🎶 Kirtan with Kaita- An hour long kirtan hosted by Kaita (sister to CLWS parent Theresa Helfer) followed by a simple, allergen friendly, Indian-inspired dinner.

Great Gatherings have limited spots, so be sure to check them out and sign up early.

We’re so grateful to the families and community members who are hosting these experiences and to everyone who participates in making this fundraiser such a special one.

We have received many amazing donations from our community and compiled them into four different raffle baskets.

Tickets are now available and $20 each or $100 for 6 tickets. Feel free to share with your network.

Winners will be announced on Saturday, Feb 21 at the fundraiser.

This year, we’re rallying around two exciting initiatives: 

🌿 Early Childhood Outdoor Play Structure – Revitalizing “Rock Mountain” with a handcrafted wooden playhouse, balance beam, and obstacle pathway to support movement, sensory growth, and imaginative play for our youngest students. 

💡 Theater Lighting Upgrade – Replacing aging lights with safe, energy-efficient LED fixtures and a new lighting board to enhance creativity, flexibility, and safety — while reducing power use by up to 75%. 

You don’t have to attend Western Fest to give — anyone can donate and make an impact.
