Educational Support
About our educational support program
CLWS is committed to supporting enrolled students academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. The goal of the Educational Support program is to support CLWS students, who may face a variety of challenges, to learn and thrive in our school environment. We strive to nurture personal and academic growth and the development of self-awareness and self-advocacy skills, so students can participate effectively in our academic, creative, and social environment. We celebrate the diverse experiences, perspectives, and identities represented at CLWS. Educational Support has specific structures to assist students and families in addressing student learning challenges, mental, emotional and behavioral issues, and physical health accommodations.
Scope of educational support services
CLWS has a unique learning model with educational support services aligned with the Waldorf pedagogy. Class teachers, Educational Support Specialists, writing and math labs, middle school counseling services, and whole class, small group, and individual therapeutic movement lessons all contribute to a holistic learning environment for students. On site private tutoring and occupational therapy are available for an additional cost to families. For students who qualify for additional support from Minneapolis Public Schools, Educational Support Specialists can help coordinate these services for students during the school day.
