Where Independence, Insight, and Intellectual Curiosity Deepen

In Middle School, students take on greater independence and engage with a curriculum that becomes more specialized and academically rigorous. While our foundation in hands-on, arts-integrated, and screen-free learning remains central, the Middle School years introduce deeper study in individual subjects and draw on students’ natural interest in social connection and emerging identity.

This stage of development cultivates critical thinking, personal responsibility, and a growing desire to understand the world in meaningful ways—offering strong preparation for the transition to high school.

Our Proven Approach to Early Adolescent, Screen-Free Learning

In our Middle School program, we continue to nurture a genuine love of learning and an active curiosity about the world. Each block of study is designed to meet students at this unique stage of early adolescence—supporting their developing sense of self, encouraging thoughtful questions, and inspiring deeper academic exploration.

Students learn in a dynamic environment that blends high expectations with strong social support. Academic rigor is balanced with creative expression, social responsibility, hands-on experiences, and meaningful teacher-student relationships. A steady weekly rhythm and a close-knit school community provide the structure adolescents need to grow with confidence.

Through this integrated, low-tech, screen-free approach, the Middle School experience strengthens academic skills, fosters creative thinking, and helps students step into young adulthood with purpose, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning.

“The ability to make connections across disciplines – arts and sciences, humanities and technology – is the key to innovation, imagination, and genius.”
