Join Us for Spanish Camp This Summer!

All rising grades 6-9 students are invited to join our Spanish Teacher, Andrés Hernandez, for Spanish Camp! Participants will learn new vocabulary, practice language skills, engage in cultural, artistic and outdoor activities, and have fun! Señor Hernandez will be assisted by CLWS alumnus Sam Hoyt. This camp is offered free of charge to City of Lakes Waldorf School Students in rising Grades 6-9.

Sessions/Hours:

Spanish Camp is offered for two weeks in June: June 13-17 and June 20-24, 2016. Families may sign up for one or both weeks. Hours are 9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.

Program Schedule:

Week 1: June 13-17
Spanish games: Baraja Española y Parqués Colombiano
Sing a song in Spanish: “Cielito Lindo” y “Limón y Sal”
Field Trip: Marissa’s Bakery ($10 required)

Week 2: June 20-24
Spanish games: La lleva, la gallina ciega
Colombian Food: Arepas con Hogao y Queso
Dance: Colombian Folkloric Dance Performance

9:00 9:30 a.m. Students arrive and day opening
9:30 10:30 a.m. Spanish games (listening and speaking)
10:30 11:30 a.m. Spanish grammar (writing and reading a song in Spanish)
11:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Lunch and relax
12:00 1:00 p.m. Rehearse Colombian folkloric dance

Additional Info and Registration:

Classes will be held in the World Language Room at City of Lakes Waldorf School (Garden Level). Please enter the building via the north side door. Please bring a snack/lunch and a water bottle!
